Electrostatic coating apparatus comprises a hollow insulated perforated tube 1 an inlet pipe 6 for the coating material discharge points 5 and an electrode 4 an electrostatic field being formed between the electrodes and the article. To produce an even spray the electrodes may increase in length away from the pipe 6 or the bar may be tilted. If the tube 1 is curved its diameter may vary with length to produce a better flow pattern. The free ends of the pipe may be left open to allow the air out.
