Abstract

1,142,130. Vehicle brake arrangements. DR.- ING h.C.F. PORSCHE K.G. 25 Sept., 1967 [18 Oct., 1966], No. 43506/67. Heading B7H. [Also in Division F2] In a motor vehicle braking system, the hand brake system (2), Fig. 1 (not shown), is operative on the vehicle rear axle differential gear 15. As shown, pivoting of the hand lever (10) is operative through linkage (11) and a lever 12, to rotate a shaft 13 supported in a limited slip differential housing 14 and carrying a cam 16 operating in a lug follower portion 17 of an arcuate V-shaped brake member 18, to apply the member against a V-shaped groove 26 in the differential cage 27. The vehicle braking system also includes a foot-operated pedal acting through two master cylinders (4), (5), having independent hydraulic lines, on tandem wheel brake cylinders operative on disc brakes on the vehicle wheels.
