Abstract

The control valve regulates the rear wheel brakes w.r.t. loading and also alters the pressure distribution between front and a rear brakes to ensure a balanced system. A stepped piston is used for the differential pressure control. In the event of rear brake failure all the braking force goes to the front wheels and this is achieved using a switching valve. In order to reduce the hysteresis of the system and make it more responsive the switching valve locates on a fixed seating on the housing with one end and on the larger surface of the stepped piston with the other end.
