Single-acting suction-valveless piston pumps.-A valveless pump comprises a piston p reciprocating for a portion of its stroke in the cylinder c and for the remainder of the stroke in the suction chamber r, pins f being provided on the piston for guiding it while it is out of the cylinder c. The delivery pipe d is made long enough to enable the momentum of the liquid therein to draw additional liquid through the inlet o while the piston is making the return stroke. An air vessel, spring-loaded piston, or discharge reservoir is arranged at the delivery end. Specification 108,738 is referred to.
