1,141,656. Rolling ingots. CENTRE NATIONAL DE RECHERCHES METALLURGIQUES. 14 Nov., 1967 [14 Nov., 1966], No. 51728/67. Heading B3A. An ingot of zinc or zinc base alloy is reduced to less than 40% of its initial thickness by rolling the ingot at an initial absolute temperature of from 65-80% of the absolute melting temperature of the zinc or alloy. The initial temperature is advantageously 453-553‹ K. (180- 280‹ C.), and the rolls which reduce the ingot are cooled only on their exit side to minimize cooling of the ingot.
