Abstract
114,105. Morterud, J. A. Aug. 27, 1917. Hardening; tempering.-Copper is heated to luminosity and plunged into a bath containing nitric acid partly neutralized by vegetable alkali. caustic potash or other. alkali. The bath may consist of 60 per cent. of nitric acid and 40 per cent. of vegetable alkali, or 75 per cent. of nitric acid and 25 per cent. of vegetable alkali.
