25,393. Coles, S. O. Cowper-. Nov. 6. Coating.-Iron or steel is made passive' by immersion in concentrated nitric acid, chromic acid, or caustic potash before electroplating with copper. According to the Provisional Specification, the process is applicable to the production of driving bands on projectiles.
