Abstract
1,140,900. Disinfecting closets. J. W. EWING and D. F. BEHRENDS. 10 Nov., 1966, No. 50479/66. Heading E1C. A disinfecting device for a toilet bowl comprises a resilient tubular body 15 (Fig. 3) made up of a portion 19 connecting leg portions 16, 18 one extending inside and the other outside the bowl rim, the portion 18 containing the fluid and the portion 16 having a nozzle 17 supplied by a tube 20 from the portion 18, the portion 19 having upper and lower walls 33, 34 to form a cavity which is contracted when the wall 33 is pressed upon by a toilet seat 12, the walls then acting to urge .the portions 16, 18 together, the fluid being elsa discharged from the portion 18 and tube 20 through the .nozzle 17. The cavity tends to be dilated by a spring 36 and the tube 20 is coupled at one end to a structure with a nozzle 17 at one end and a non-return valve 40 at the other (Fig. 4). The nozzle 17 has grooves (Fig. 8) between ribs 47 for air passage and incorporates an air and liquid mixing chamber 51 (Fig. 4).
