Abstract

1,140,602. Rocket launching and guiding installation. SOCIETE D'APPLICATIONS DES MACHINES MOTRICES. 1 April, 1966 [6 April, 1965], No. 14654/66. Heading F3C. An installation from which missiles are launched and then guided to their targets comprises a separate aiming device 6 and a manually controlled teleguiding device 15, each of these devices including a sight and means for interconnecting the sights for maintaining the line of sight of the sight of the teleguiding device on the target at any moment by means of the sight of the aiming device. The aiming device 6 and a seat 7 for the laying gunner is mounted on a platform 1 which is rotatable about a vertical axis. A horizontal shaft 3 is also mounted on the platform 6 and carries a pair of rockets 5, rotation of the aiming device in elevation by means of a manipulator 9 causing a corresponding rotation of the shaft 3. The platform 1 carries a seat 11 for the teleguidance gunner. The teleguiding device is connected, as by a parallelogram of points of articulation, to the aiming device 6, such that the teleguidance gunner can guide the rockets on to the target. The laying gunner may be replaced by a remote control device in a central firing post.
