Abstract
1,140,269. Rotary oil burners. BIRMING- HAM SMALL ARMS CO. Ltd. 2 Oct., 1967 [2 July, 1966], No. 29807/66. Heading F4T. A burner for centrifugally atomized oil has a hollow rotary shaft 8 driven by a motor 17 and having mounted ooaxially therein a spindle 12 to form an annular chamber 22, oil fed from a supply tank through a constant level valve arrangement being fed through an inlet passage 20 into a well 21 from where it rises through holes 8a in the shaft 8 to a constant level in the annular chamber so that when the shaft is rotated the oil is forced up the chamber 22 to distributer pipes 18, the dimension of the chamber 21 being such that the space normally occupied by a vortex is filled and the chamber contains substantially the same quantity of oil when rotating as when static.
