Abstract
1,139,314. Latch fastenings. M. J. TAYLOR. 4 June, 1966, No. 24993/66. Addition to 897224. Heading E2A [Also in Division A3] A bracelet includes first and second portions 10, 11 each of approximately part-circular configuration, the two portions being hingedly connected together at one of their ends and releasably secured near the other at which each has an apertured end plate 13, 14, the securing means including a resilient strip 16 which is retained by engagement of one end part 17 thereof with the first portion of the bracelet, the strip passing through the aperture of the end plate of said first portion and being slidably engageable in the second portion, the other end part 20 of the resilient strip being arranged to engage the end plate of said second portion to limit the travel of the strip out of the second portion of the bracelet, a single slit 19 being formed in the strip, said slit being arranged to receive an abutment 15 of the end plate 14 of the second portion when the bracelet is in the closed position, the end part 17 of the resilient strip constituting a projection which can be moved manually to effect disengagement of the slit and the abutment. In the construction shown the part 17 passes through an aperture 18 in the portion 10. The part 20 of the strip is in the form of a tongue which is engageable with the abutment 15.
