Abstract
1,138,007. Spray-producers. HOERBIGER VENTILWERKE A.G. 8 May, 1967 [11 May 1966], No. 21334/67. Heading B2F. A lubricant atomizer comprises a lubricant container 1 supporting a spray head 2 having a passage 4 for the floor of compressed air, and a pipe 35 provided with a valve 32, 33 for the delivery of the lubricant to the container, the ball member 32 of the valve being automatically opened and closed as a function of the lubricant level in the container. A casing 14, 15 secured beneath the container is divided into two portions 17, 19 by a diaphragm 16, the lower portion 19 communicating via a tube 20 with the air space above the lubricant level and the portion 17 communicating with the container 1 and, via the valve 32, 33, with the pipe 35. The diaphragm 16 is loaded on its underside by an adjustable spring 22 and. the casing is provided with a drain plug 25. A lever 29 actuates the ball member 32 and is connected to a nut 26 mounted above the diaphragm. The movement of the diaphragm is a function of the weight of the lubricant and is independent of fluctuations in the gas pressure. The portion 19 and the space above the lubricant are pressurized from the passage 4 through a passage 7. A sinter filter 40 is located upstream of the valve 32, 33. The lubricant is fed from the container to a restriction 5 in the passage 4 via a drip cowl 3. The diaphragm may alternatively be located in the container 1 and in a further modification the tube 20 is removed and the upward force on the diaphragm is produced purely by a spring.
