Abstract
1,137,809. Refining copper. OUTOKUMPU OY. May 3, 1967 [May 4, 1966], No.20616/67. Heading C7D. The softening temperature of oxygen-free copper is decreased and its electrical conductivity is increased by adding to the copper before or during melting 0À001-0À1% of one or more of the lanthanides or alloy thereof. The addition may be made to the molten copper by using a master alloy (e. g. one containing 5% Ce). In examples the copper contains impurity amounts of Bi, Fe, Ni, Pb, Zn, Sn, Mn, Ag, S and P.
