1,136,861. Hull forms for multiple hull vessels. INSTITUT FœR SCHIFFBAU. 21 Jan., 1966, No. 2853/66. Heading B7A. A multiple-hull ship comprises hulls each with a forebody (righthand side of Fig.) and/or afterbody (left-hand side of Fig.) of S-frame shape and with a parallel midship body or section with straight sides, wherein for a frame in each case at 15% (section 1¢) and/or 85% (section 8¢) of the hull's length, measured from the after perpendicular, in the range of 0À3 to 0À6 of the designed draught, there is an offset (distance from the centre line MR) which is greater than the minimum offset in the range from 0À7 to 1À2 of the designed draught. The designed water-line area in the fore-part and/or after-part of each hull is smaller than the area of the underwater lines in the region of half draught.
