A composite craft comprises at least two individual and separable sections, namely a cargo-carrying bow section 10 and a stern section 20 embodying navigational and propulsion means, the sections having bulk-heads 11, 21 of similar size and shape, and means 30 substantially at deck level for drawing together and connecting the sections to form a unitary vessel. At least two interchangeable cargocarrying bow sections may be provided.
