Abstract

1,134,700. Repairing converter linings. QUIGLEY CO. Inc. 29 Dec., 1965 [7 Jan., 1965], No. 26831/68. Divided out of 1,134,699. Heading F4B. Apparatus for repairing metallurgical converter linings comprises a long rigid pipe 38 with spray nozzle 39 mounted on a boom 37 balanced on a roller 40 on a shield 41 attached to a mobile frame 43. The boom 37 is counterbalanced at 44 and is attached at 47 to a chain hoist 45 suspended. from a trolley 45a running on a track extending fore and aft of the frame. The shield has a window 42 of heat resistant glass. Both the boom and the pipe may be water cooled and the latter may be rotatably mounted.
