Abstract

1,134,433. Sealing bottles. M. TOMABECHI. 4 Aug., 1966 [23 Aug., 1965; 28 May, 1966], No. 35077/66. Headings B8C and B8T. A layer of thermoplastic synthetic resin (2) (Fig. 1, not shown) by which an aluminium cap is secured to a bottle is baked to reduce the solvent and moisture content to the minimum possible. The cap may have portions turning over to engage the neck of the bottle, or downwardly extending cylindrical walls (Fig. 7, not shown) which engage a corresponding portion of the bottle mouth and terminate in a square tab (4) (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown) by which the cap may be torn away. The top rim (10) (Figs. 8 and 9, not shown) of the bottle is preferably flat or sloping slightly inwardly. A coil spring may surround the side walls of the cap to hold it in place while the cap is heat sealed to the bottle.
