Abstract
1,131,746. Regulating fluid-flow. CORNING GLASS WORKS. May 24,1966 [May 24, 1965], No.23058/66, Heading G3H. The flow of liquid material from a reservoir 13 to an outlet 29 of a tube 15 is controlled by fluidpressure in a bell member 19. Flow from the reservoir to the tube takes place through a restricted passage and the fluid-pressure in the bell controls the quantity flowing to the tube 15 which is restricted. As shown, the tube may extend above the bottom of the reservoir and the bell extend over the top of the tube. Alternatively, the bell may be just above the top of the tube or the tube may lead from at the bottom of the tank. In a further modification, the tube is above the level of liquid and suction is applied to the bell.
