Abstract
1,129,755. Making aluminium alloys. DOW CHEMICAL CO. April 29, 1966. No.19004/66. Headings C7A and C7D. Aluminium base alloys consisting of the balance being aluminium are made by hot working (e.g. by extrusion, casting, rolling or forging) of pellets of the alloy which pass through a 20 mesh U. S. A. Standard Sieve, heating the worked alloy to 900-1,100‹ F, quenching (e. g. in water) and ageing at 300-400‹ F for 5-20 hours. The initial pellets may be made by jet or disc atomizing.
