1,129,605. Rotary pumps and motors. H. HAGENES. Jan. 10, 1966 [Jan. 22, 1965], No.1120/66. Heading F1F. A rotary pump or motor of the internallymeshing gear type, includes an outer gear 1, Fig. 2, having axially-extending internal teeth 2 in mesh with external teeth on a freely and eccentrically mounted inner gear 6 between which and the outer gear is disposed a crescent-shaped filling piece 5" formed on a cover 5 having inlet and outlet ducts diametrically opposite the filler piece through which hydraulic fluid is axially supplied and discharged to and from the pump or motor. The teeth 2 of the outer gear 1 are less in radial extent and axially shorter than the teeth of the inner gear 6 to provide cavities 11 and 12 between the teeth at the sealing position 5<SP>1</SP> where the teeth are in full mesh between the inlet and outlet to prevent compression of the fluid, reduce wear and tear on the teeth and reduce noise. Sealing is provided between the teeth of the gear 6 and the cover 5.
