Abstract
1,129,064. Squirrel cage constructions; core constructions. MASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON. 8 March, 1967 [23 March, 1966], No. 10863/67. Heading H2A. A rotor for an asynchronous machine comprises a solid core 1 of high permeability material and a squirrel-cage winding comprising bars 2 located in closed slots and end rings 3 partly covered by a low-permeability cover 4 secured to the core by pressure-proof welded joints 5. To reduce flux leakage, the slots 7 are milled in the surface of the rotor to a depth slightly less than that of the bars 2. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown) the core comprises two or more concentric tubes of high permeability material welded together at their ends
