Abstract
1337785 Core constructions BROOK MOTORS Ltd 1 Feb 1971 3570/71 Heading H2A In a rotor for a synchronous reluctance machine, openings 2 serving as flux barriers are formed inwardly of peripheral conductors but do not extend to the surface of the rotor and the conductors are irregularly distributed around the rotor. The 4-pole rotor shown has four openings 2 on the quadrature axes and includes additional flux guides 4. The openings 2 and flux guides 4 may be connected to the bottoms of slots 1 containing the conductors or be separated therefrom by bridges 3, 5 of magnetic material. The openings and flux guides may be filled with conductive material joined to the end rings of the conductors which are formed as a squirrel-cage winding. As shown, there are no conductors on the direct axes. Alternatively, or in addition, the conductors may be unevenly pitched.
