Abstract
1,056,605. Permanent magnet machines. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Sept. 2, 1965 [Sept. 9, 1964; Nov. 23, 1964], No. 37618/65. Heading H2A. A synchronous motor has an external rotor excited by radially-magnetized magnets 7 located between laminated pole-shoes 6 and a laminated core 5. Gaps 8, filled with non- magnetic material, are located at the ends of the magnets. These presumably serve to prevent short-circuit of the pole-flux. Poleface slots 9 carry damping bars, and holding bolts pass through holes 11. Preferably, the rotor is formed of two sections axially spaced by non-magnetic supporting discs 13 (Fig. 3, not shown). The rotor is carried in a supporting drum 14 which may be of steel and serve to replace the laminated core (Figs. 4, 5, not shown). The magnets are of ferrite.
