A centrifugal blower for suspensions of solid particles in a gas has forwardly curved rotor blades 4 discharging to a vaneless diffuser 5, 6 communicating with a volute 8. The outer peripheral edge of each blade is serrated along its axial length, Fig. 3 (not shown), and its thickness is tapered in the radial direction over the height of the serrations, Fig. 4 (not shown). .
