Abstract

1,127,435. Collapsible containers; box pallets. H. J. KENNARD. 7 Sept., 1966 [13 Sept., 1965; 22 June, 1966], Nos. 38984/65 and 27835/66. Headings B8H and B8P. A collapsible container comprises top 1 and base 2 connected by hinges 12, each with a removable pin (13), two sides (3) each comprising an upper portion 5 and lower portion 6 connected by hinges 7 and collapsible inwardly, each portion 5, 6 having at at least one end, two-way hinges 16 carrying panels (14a, 14b), 15a and 15b which fold against the insides of portions 5, 6 when the container is collapsed. As an alternative each end may comprise an upper panel (31, Fig. 4, not shown) and one lower panel (32), the panels (31, 32) at one end being hinged to one side (3) and at the other end to the other side (3). The base 1 may have skids 28, 29 with holes 30 to engage the prongs of a fork-lift truck.
