Abstract

1,127,282. Laminates. POLYMER CORP. Ltd. 15 July, 1966 [23 Aug., 1965], No. 31952/66. Heading B5N. [Also in Division C3] Surfaces are bonded together by interposing between them an anhydrous adhesive composition comprising a mixture of a polar copolymer of 51 to 80 mole per cent of isoprene and 49 to 20 mole per cent of acrylonitrile, the copolymer having a Mooney viscosity (ML-4 at 100‹ C.) of from 1 to 100, and a compatible resin, the resin having a softening point between 50‹ and 160‹ C. The composition may be suitable as a hotmelt adhesive composition. In the examples, the following surfaces were bonded: cotton duck strips, cotton duck to fabric backed PVC sheet, fir plywood strips, aluminium plates, cotton duck to polished steel, polyurethane foam to wood and kraft paper to aluminium foil.
