Abstract

1,126,299. Friction clutches. LUK LAMELLEN UND KUPPLUNGSBAU G.m.b.H. 16 March, 1967 [19 March, 1966], No. 12406/67. Heading F2C. A friction clutch is engaged by a diaphragm spring 5 and disengaged by a release sleeve 8 axially slidably mounted in a guide sleeve 7 welded to a clutch cover 2, the sleeve 8 being shifted to the right to disengage the clutch by a fork 13 acting through a bearing 10. To give compact axial dimensions to the clutch the guide sleeve 7 extends mainly inwardly of the cover 2. The inner periphery of the diaphragm spring 5 is engaged by a disc 14 which is retained axially of the release sleeve 8 by a spring ring 23 and has parts 18 projecting through slots 16, 17 in the sleeves 7, 8 and has recesses 15 through which project fingers provided between the slots 16, 17 of the sleeves. The ends 30 of the slots in the guide sleeve limit the maximum disengaged position of the disc 14. When the clutch friction linings have worn a predetermined amount a disc 12 of the disengaging mechanism abuts an end face 27 of the guide sleeve to prevent further engaging movement.
