Abstract

943,039. Friction clutches. K. HAUSSERMANN, H. HAUSSERMANN, and L. HAUSSERMANN. trading as Lamellen-und Kupplungbau A. Haussermann. Feb. 28, 1961, No. 7210/61. Heading F2C. A disc clutch of the type operated by a diaphragm spring 13 and axial sleeve 15 is provided with an auxiliary peripheral spring 12, of conical form in the free condition, located between the main spring 13 and a convex bearing ring 11 carried by the pressure plate 7. With the clutch engaged, as shown in Fig. 1, the spring 12 is pressed flat with its periphery in contact with the ring 11, and as the sleeve 15 is moved to the left to release the clutch the line of contact moves radially inwards. In a modification the auxiliary spring 12 is convex and the ring 11 of conical form.
