Abstract

1,124,345. Waste heat boiler plant. L. & C. STEINMULLER G.m.b.H. 6 Sept., 1965, No. 38064/65. Heading F4A. Waste heat from blast, cupola or other industrial furnaces 1 is recovered in two stages, the cooling systems for the stages operating at different pressures. Coolant water at below 25 ats. gauge pressure is circulated by pump p about structural components such as blast nozzles 2, tap holes or movable doors and covers of the furnace and the steam-water mixture produced is used to heat feed water in heat exchanger 6, the cooled water being recirculated through line c. The heated feed water is then fed to a high pressure waste heat steam generator 4 situated in the exhaust gas line between hot and cold blast heating stoves 3, 5 respectively for preheating combustion air to be fed to the furnace 1. Structural furnace components such as walls and gas exhaust hoods may also constitute part of the high pressure waste heat boiler.
