Abstract

1,122,514. Baking ovens. I. RHODES. 7 April, 1966 [9 April, 1965], No. 15774/66. Heading A2A. A baking or cooking oven comprises electrically conductive endless belt 14, heating tubes 42 internally heated by gases from header 44, pipes 48 for introducing steam into the oven chamber, and a plurality of electrically conductive bars 72 and 74 having a knife edge or pins 78 having points 80 arranged along the length of the bars, the bars being connected to a source of high potential so that they discharge static electricity into the oven and the belt 14 being earthed such that the steam introduced into the oven chamber is caused to move into the vicinity of the food on the belt and the steam emitted by the food is caused to remain in the vicinity of the food. The bars are mounted in insulated supports and the position of the bars is adjustable. The hearth 16 and ceiling 40 of the oven are earthed.
