Abstract

1471016 Bakers oven SIMON-VICARS Ltd and FLOUR MILLING & BAKING RESEARCH ASSOCIATION 26 Aug 1975 [17 Sept 1974 4 June 1975] 40579/74 and 24160/75 Heading A2A A bakers oven for biscuits comprises at least three separate baking stages with heaters, the centre of which is heated by high frequency dielectric heating, and an endless conveyor belt has the biscuits, comprised of non metallic material having a low dielectric loss factor. Preferably the heating in the first section is by both radiation and convection, whilst in the third section radiation alone is used. Hot gases from the third section may be introduced into the centre section, and extractors for both first and third sections may be controlled by sensors detecting conditions therein. The dielectric heater may comprise electrodes so arranged that the electro magnetic field produces thereby is directed horizontally through the biscuits. The conveyor may be made from PTFE coated woven yarns fabric.
