Abstract
A solution for protecting the surface of and neutralizing solutions, e.g. acid pickling and plating solutions, remaining on the surface of copper, brass or silver comprises an alkali metal hydroxide and benzotriazole (0.01 to 1g./l.). When used after plating with a cyanide solution, the neutralizing solution may also contain chlorine.
