Abstract
1,117,512. Steaming apparatus for garments. J. A. READ and S. H. J. BARNDEN. 8 June, 1967 [8 June, 1966], No. 25469/66. Heading D1A. [Also in Division F4] A steam and air finisher for garments comprises a garment support fitting over a socket 1 and with means to engage a slot in the socket 1 to prevent relative rotation thereof, the socket being rotatably mounted surrounding a steam and air outlet. The socket 1 has legs 3 welded to an outlet duct 4 depending into an opening 6 in a shelf and freely rotatable therein. A tubular rod 7 fitting into socket I is slotted at 11 and 13 to receive the bars of a frame 9 having pivoted skeleton arms 14 the lower bar engaging a slot 5 in socket 1. A complete machine, Fig. 2, comprises a shelf 8 above a casing 16 having a blower box 18 at one end an electrical control box 19 at its other end. In this arrangement, a solid rod 22 with arms 23 hinged to its slides in socket I having a pin to engage slot 5. In each arrangement, a porous garment shaped bag is placed over the whole arrangement and secured to the top of outlet duct 4. The garment supports may be readily changed.
