Abstract

1,114,417. Vehicle rear view mirrors. DESMO Ltd. 2 Aug., 1965 [31 July, 1964], No. 30383/64. Heading B7J. The mirror comprises die-cast metal or plastic parts 10, 12 and a flat-bottomed rectangular plinth 13 into which are moulded screws 32, the part 10 having a spherical end 17 fitting into a bevelled seating 19. The mirror proper may be retained by a ring 20 as in Specification 1,095,332, or held by a similar ring, but having an external rib or flange which abuts the edge of the open end of the holder 10, or the interior of the holder may be provided with a transverse partition and the mirror 11 seated back and adhered to a foam plastics material between it and the partition. A dished plate 27 of larger diameter than a hole 18 in the end 17 co-operates with a screw 26 and a nut and spring to provide a joint which may be adjusted by removing a plastic reflector cover 31 and turning the screw.
