[Also in Division B3] A suspension of plaster or the like in water is pumped through a line 22 to a pulverizer 19 which comprises a rotor 27, having vanes 28, on a shaft 26 driven through a gear box by an electric motor, the peripheral speed of the rotor being about 10,000 ft./min. A stator 36 is of ceramic or similar wear-resistant material. Particles below a predetermined size pass through the gap between the rotor and stator into a discharge line 23. The pressure in line 22 is preferably 5-15 p.s.i. but may be so high as 50 p.s.i.
