1361060 Comminuting apparatus GERLACH-WERKE GmbH 11 Aug 1971 [11 Aug 1970] 37773/71 Heading B2A Comminuting apparatus comprises a cylinder 13 supporting, at axially-spaced intervals, discs 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 having cut-out sectors, the cutouts exceeding 180‹, and an axial shaft 14 supporting discs 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 which are rotatable respectively in the spaces between the discs secured to the cylinder. These rotatable discs also have cut-out sectors equal to or less than 180‹. The fixed and/or rotatable discs have progressively decreasing thickness from one end to the other. The cylinder is arranged diagonally in a casing 1. Refuse is supplied via a hopper 21 which has a door 23, and is progressively comminuted as it passes through the cylinder, issuing at 25 into a trolley 26. The shaft 14 is driven by a motor 15.
