Abstract

1,112,614. Ammunition primers. SPRENGSTOFFWERK I VEB. 6 Sept., 1965, No. 37942/65. Heading F3A. A cartridge primer comprises a casing 1 housing a priming composition 3 covered with a layer 9 of varnish against which presses an imperforate anvil closing the casing, the anvil being made of a synthetic plastics material, e.g. polystyrene, which is atomized by the charge 3 on ignition. The primer may be centre or rim firing.
