Abstract

1,112,190. Lubricating. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG A. G. April 15, 1966 [June 11, 1965], No. 16736/66. Heading F1B. The two ends of the bottom of the engine sump are formed with orifices 2 and 3, through which the sump communicates with the suction line 4 of the oil pump 5. The orifices 2 and 3 are controlled by float valves 6 and 7 which are connected by linkage 8, 9, 10 such that when one valve is fully open, the other is fully closed. A weight 11, pivotted from a point 14 and co-operating with link 9 by means of a pin 13 and a ring 12, assists the movement of the valves and linkage during oil surge or when the engine is inclined.
