836,861. Force-feed lubricating. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. July 2, 1958 [July 2, 1957], No. 21157/58. Class 12 (3). [Also in Group XXIX] After a control pressure at 40 has been set to act on the end 26 of piston valve 18 against spring 28, pump 10 delivers pressure fluid at 14 past check valve 36 and through a line 34. When the set line pressure is reached it acts via a passage 38 on a differential area 24 of piston valve 18 and lifts it to allow oil to flow from line 34 to a lubricating line 42 and a torque converter line 44. On further pressure increase in lines 34, 42 and 44, valve 18 is raised still further by the pressure acting on area 24 so that land 20 opens communication between pump delivery line 14 and the sump passage 46. On further increase in pressure valve 18 moves higher so that land 22 opens direct communication between passages 34 and 46.
