Abstract

1,111,587. Bolting; pipe supports. S. V. GIARDIANA, and P. FICHERA. 7 Sept., 1965, No. 38266/65. Headings F2H and F2P. An arrangement for supporting a load suspension member 28 from an overhead structure 20, comprises a bracket 10 secured to the structure by an inclined pin 14 and a vertical expansion bolt 54, the pin resolving downward loads on the member 28 into vertical and horizontal forces of which the horizontal force is transmitted to the bolt 54 in shear. A clip 18 is trapped below the head of the bolt 54 and engages the head of the pin 14. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the extremity of the pin (78) is screwthreaded for engagement by a nut (92), which after tightening is locked to the pin by, e.g. riveting. In Fig. 3 (not shown), the load suspension member (200) is screw-threaded and adjustably mounted in a bracket (194), connected to the bracket (170) by a nut and bolt (196), so that its upper end abuts the extremity of the pin (182).
