Abstract

1305902 Adjustable jack - like supports PORTAKABIN Ltd 3 April 1970 [9 April 1969] 18258/69 Heading B8J An adjustable support for a structure, such as a cabin, to be levelled comprises a mounting 3 securable to the structure (not shown) with a base 1 sliding therein with a coarse adjustment provided by a pin 7 passing through a selected pair of holes in the base 1. Fine adjustment is provided by a bolt 11 threaded in a secondary support member S, adjustably secured to the member 1 by bolts 12, engaging a portion 8 of a bracket 6 attached to the mounting 3. Initial coarse adjustment may be made by a pneumatic or hydraulic jack or by a camming lever as described in Specification 982,839. The fine adjustment may be by a pawl and ratchet mechanism, Fig. 4 (not shown), operated manually or by pneumatic or hydraulic power.
