Two-stroke-cycle engines; driving-gear; cylinders, construction of.-In a revolving-cylinder engine, oppositely moving pistons f<2>, f<3> compress pump charges in the closed ends of the cylinders and drive through stationary cam tracks c. The cylinders rotate with the central shaft e<2> inside a fixed aluminium casing b<2> having inlet ports which register with ports g<5> in an aluminium or other casing carrying the cylinder liners. The piston f<3> reciprocates in a sleeve f<4> on the piston f<2>, the sleeve controlling the transfer ports i<2>, i<3> from the pump ends of the cylinders and the exhaust port k. Combustible mixture enters the pump spaces when the ports g<2> g<3> are uncovered by the pistons at the ends of the compression strokes.
