Abstract
1,111,002. Switchgear structures. SOUTH WALES SWITCHGEAR Ltd. 3 June, 1965 [9 June, 1964], No. 23923/64. Heading H1N. One of the plugging isolator contacts 25 of a switch unit 21 withdrawable from a switchgear structure 1 is movable when the unit is in its withdrawn position to engage a contact 31 mounted on and earthed to the switch carriage 29 so that when the switch unit is reinserted the switch may be used to earth the cable terminal 18 (Fig. 3, not shown) or the bus-bar terminal 11 (Fig. 4, not shown). Contact 31 is pivoted to be disengageable from contact 25 when a testing device is connected. Interlocks (not shown) prevent movement of contact 25 while the switch 21 is inserted; operation of the switch while it is withdrawn or withdrawal of the switch while it is closed. A voltage transformer may be located in the structure 1 and a current transformer in the cable box 4.
