Abstract
1,109,860. Fuses. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 6 Dec., 1966 [7 Dec. 1965], No. 51796/65. Heading H2G. A fuse link comprises a fusible element connected between conductive members which are supported and spaced apart by a tubular body embracing the element, the body comprising an outer wall of resin-bonded mechanical stress-resistant insulating material and an inner wall integral therewith of resin-bonded arc-resistant insulating material, the volumetric ratio of resinous to bound materials in the inner wall being less than this ratio in the outer wall. The outer wall may be bonded glass fibre, the inner wall bonded mica, e.g. in the form of flakes, and the bonding material may be a silicon resin. The outer wall may be 40 to 50% by weight of resin and the inner wall 20% or less by weight of resin.
