Abstract

1,109,530. Burners. ING. W. OERTLI A.G. 28 March, 1967 [1 April, 1966], No. 14096/67. Heading F4T. An oil burner with a heater 51 for preheating the fuel, a pressure atomizer nozzle 41 and separate scavenging and operating return passages has the scavenging return passage 62 surrounding the flow passage and the operating return passage 68 and the valves 33, 35 in the flow and return passages are operated by means of an hydraulic piston 11. On starting cold fuel is drawn by a pump 45 and passed through a flow pressure regulator 47 to the heater 51 and via pipe 53 to the antechamber 56 of the nozzle assembly and since valves 33, 35 are closed the fuel passes through apertures 60 into the scavenging return passage 62 and via open magnetic valve 80 to the fuel tank. When operating temperature has been reached in the nozzle assembly, the valve 80 is closed so that fuel pressure rises in the chamber 56, the force of springs 27, 29 is overcome by the pressure on the piston 11 and the valves 33, 35 are opened.
