Abstract

110,760. Robinson, H. Nov. 16, 1916. Magneto-electric machines.-In a magneto-electric machine for ignition in internal-combustion engines, comprising a rotating permanent magnet 2 and stationary primary and secondary armature windings 11, 12, an interrupter in the primary circuit is dispensed with and the primary windings are directly closed upon themselves. The stator comprises as many primary and secondary windings as there are cylinders to be fired. The stator may be adjusted angularly for timing purposes. The primary windings 11 and secondary windings 12 are connected in series with the sparkplugs 14.
