Abstract

443,907. Magnetos. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London, and GOUGH, W. E., 20, Biggin Hall Crescent, and MAYCOCK, W. H., 33, Camden Street, Stoke, both in Coventry. Sept. 7, 1934, No. 25777. [Class 35] A magneto has two independent sets of stator windings spaced one-eighty degrees apart, each with its own circuit-breaker, and when the pairs of rotary magnet polepieces co-operate simultaneously with the polepieces of both stator windings, one of the circuit breakers is actuated. In the form shown, the magnet D has eight polepieces and the circuit breakers A, A1 are actuated alternately so that four sparks are produced by each secondary winding H, HI per revolution. The circuit-breakers may be actuated by a common cam and the magnet may be rotated at one and a half times the engine speed.
