Abstract
1,107,580. Supply circuits for electromagnets; capacitor arrangements. FRANZ MORAT G.m.b.H. 30 June, 1965 [1 July, 1964], No. 3040/67. Divided out of 1,106,746. Heading H2H. The Specification relates to a circuit arrangement for operating an electro-magnet similar to that disclosed in Fig. 3 or Fig. 4 of Specification 1,106,746, but the presence of the condenser is used to reduce the current drawn from the operating voltage source instead of to increase the speed of excitation. This is achieved by providing the electro-magnet winding with a number of turns greater than the number which would be necessary for achieving a given speed of excitation from the unaugmented operating voltage, by a factor which corresponds to the amount of excitation augmentation provided by the condenser, whereby the operating current is reduced by the said factor while the said given speed of excitation is retained.
