852,267. Supply systems for lifting magnets. ELECTROMAGNETS Ltd. Feb. 18, 1959 [Feb. 22, 1958], No. 5832/58. Diawings to Specification. Class 38 (4). An electromagnet for lifting purposes is directly connected across the output of a grid controlled rectifier the output of which may be varied by alteration of the phase angle of the voltage applied to the grids by a phase shifting transformer. An additional rectifier may be incorporated to supply a small reverse current for demagnetization purposes.
