Abstract

1,105,615. Hose couplings. GASKELL & CHAMBERS Ltd. 21 Oct., 1965 [24 July, 1964], No. 29791/64. Heading F2G. A coupler for a liquid dispensing apparatus includes a valve 15 biased by a spring 17 to close the gas passage in the coupler and displaceable on insertion of the coupler into coaoting valve means in a container 32 to allow flow through the passage. The coupler has lugs 10a which no-operate with a screw thread in a retaining member 34, the part 16 of the coupler being displaced so that the valve 15 is unseated and the closure member 30 being depressed against the spring 31 whioh is of greater strength than the valve spring 17. Compressed gas flows through the non-return valve 21, the bores 19, 13 and 14 and ports 29 to the container, and liquid passes through the stem 27 the bore of valve 15, past the ball valve 24 to the outlet 23.
